Are you interested in using AI to solve real-world problems and building technology that could change how people find and take part in volunteering?
We're looking for a Data Scientist & Software Engineer to lead the technical delivery of an ambitious 36-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between Nottingham Trent University and TeamKinetic, a UK volunteer management technology company.
You'll work at the intersection of AI, software development and user-centred design. You'll explore how volunteers and volunteer managers use digital platforms, translate their needs into technical requirements, and develop new AI-enabled tools that make finding and managing volunteering opportunities easier.
The role will be primarily located in TeamKinetic's Manchester office but require travel between NTU and TeamKinetic on a regular basis.
About TeamKinetic:
TeamKinetic are passionate about making volunteering easier for all. Their mission is simple: build connections and empower communities through affordable, accessible, and inclusive volunteer management software. TeamKinetic are committed to supporting the growth of the voluntary sector which is why they've partnered with Nottingham Trent University to develop an intelligent, AI-powered platform that transforms how volunteers are matched and supported.
About KTPs:
This position forms part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) funded jointly by Innovate UK and TeamKinetic Limited. As a KTP Associate you will work within TeamKinetic Ltd to develop and embed knowledge, with research and academic support from NTU. This KTP offers the ideal opportunity to apply your degree through real work and springboard your career. It includes a £6k training budget and 10% of your time dedicated to your own personal development.
Please note: if you're applying for this position, you should not have previously been employed as a KTP Associate.
Interview date: Week commencing 7th December (in Manchester).
For informal queries about the role or the team, please contact Professor Daniel King (Professor of Organisation Studies) at [email protected]
