Veterinary Lecturer in Animal Welfare, Ethics & Behaviour

The School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Lancashire is an international, research-active institution, the first facility of its kind to open in the county. You will contribute to the course development, delivery and management of undergraduate and postgraduate education for students enrolled in the School of Veterinary Medicine with a focus on the topic of animal behaviour, welfare & ethics. You will work closely with the School of Veterinary Medicine's academic and digital development team to create innovative and accessible learning provision to UG and PG learners, supervise and support undergraduate and postgraduate research, and contribute to the wider School and University activities.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and practical skills in Animal Sciences including behaviour, welfare and ethics. They must hold at least a 2:1 (Hons) degree or equivalent in veterinary medicine, animal science or another relevant discipline as well as a relevant Level 7 qualification or significant professional specialisation. You should be flexible and innovative in your teaching approach, prepared to teach across a variety of degrees within the school and be committed to widening participation in education and animal welfare in practice.

It would be beneficial to have teaching and assessment experience at Levels 4–7 and an ability to engage in research activity relevant to your field of expertise. Knowledge of research design, statistical analysis (particularly in R Studio) and practical experience of evidence-based companion animal handling is desirable.
