The Student Recruitment team is responsible for recruiting Home undergraduate and postgraduate students to the University through higher education exhibitions, schools and colleges outreach, and large- and small-scale campus events. It is an exciting time to join MRAO as we have a vision and mandate for growth endorsed by the University Executive Board.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Student Recruitment (Schools Liaison and Postgraduate), this role works primarily in the recruitment of Home postgraduate students. This includes the planning, management and delivery of postgraduate recruitment events both on and off campus, and a range of online activity and partnership working.
This role is hybrid, based online and on-site at our campus in York. Regular campus attendance is required for frequent in-person meetings, event planning and set up, and all key university events, including Open Days and Post-Offer Visit Days.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
You will have significant experience of managing and running events, both online and in-person, with relevant experience of working in student recruitment, postgraduate admissions and/or marketing. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written skills and outstanding presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with varied audiences. Additionally, you will demonstrate very strong administrative and organisational skills, including demonstrable planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Consequently, all applicants will be asked to declare both unspent and spent convictions on their application form. Appointment of the successful candidate will be conditional on a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
The University strives to be diverse and inclusive – a place where we can ALL be ourselves. We particularly encourage applications from people who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background, who are underrepresented at the University. We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. As a Disability Confident employer, we will ensure that a fair and proportionate number of disabled applicants that meet the minimum (essential) criteria for each position will be offered an interview.
