The School of Law and Criminology at the University of Greenwich is looking to recruit a Senior Lecturer in Criminology. With over 2,000 students and 50 full time members of staff, the School is home to a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes based at the historic Old Royal Naval College.

The successful candidate will work closely with the existing criminology group to help deliver innovative teaching across our range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We are specifically interested in candidates who would be able to lead modules and teach around criminal justice policy, and quantitative research methods.

In conjunction with teaching on these subjects, we are also interested in candidates with a developing or established research profile that complements the school's existing interests, and who can support our new work around postgraduate programme development.

You must be able to demonstrate a strong teaching profile and a proven commitment to the student experience, including supporting students' wellbeing. A PhD in a relevant subject is essential, as is energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to playing a full and active role in the life of the school.

Note on employer: On 1 August 2026, the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent formed a pioneering new multi-university group called London and South-East (LASE) University Group. Should you join, you will be employed by LASE but will work as part of the University of Greenwich academic division, contributing to its distinct strengths, community and identity while also being part of a wider group that brings together the scale, resilience and shared ambition of both universities.

The University is committed to building a strong, diverse workforce and particularly encourages applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic, care leavers, disabled and LGBT+ people. The University is a Time to Change Employer Pledge/Mentally Healthy Universities signatory and is committed to promoting and supporting the physical and mental health of all staff and removing barriers to improve inclusion.
