Research Fellow (0.8 FTE)

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world's leading public health universities. We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to work on a new systematic review of interventions to modify screen time among children and young people.

The post-holder will contribute to: co-ordinating public and policymaker involvement; designing review materials and other aspects of research methods; organising searches; screening studies for inclusion; extracting data and assessing the quality of included studies; synthesising qualitative evidence; liaising with those leading on the synthesis of quantitative evidence; drafting reports and academic papers; and knowledge exchange. The post-holder will also contribute to the development of research funding proposals, teaching, supervision of doctoral students and internal contribution roles.

The successful applicant will have a post-graduate degree in a relevant topic, relevant experience in public health or social research (ideally systematic reviews), a track record of contributions to published outputs, proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and understanding of systematic review methods and of children and young people's health.

The post is part-time 28 hours per week, 0.8 FTE and fixed-term until 30 April 2028. The post is funded by the NIHR Public Health Research Programme and is available from 1 January 2027.

The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,728 - £51,872 per annum pro-rata (inclusive of London Weighting). Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary Wellbeing Days. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
