Research Associate (Internal Only)

The Aston Institute for Forensic Linguistics (AIFL) is looking to welcome an enthusiastic and talented Research Fellow to join our vibrant and supportive research community.

We are seeking a candidate with a PhD in Forensic Linguistics or a closely related discipline, alongside experience in conducting high-quality research and analysis in forensic linguistics. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a globally recognised institute and help shape innovative research that makes a meaningful impact.

As part of our collaborative team, you will play an important role in developing and enhancing AIFL's research portfolio. You will contribute to the pursuit of externally funded research opportunities, support the growth of the Institute's impact activities, and help strengthen our influence locally, nationally and internationally.

Working independently and alongside colleagues across the Institute, you will contribute to and lead research projects, drawing on your expertise to advance knowledge within the field. You will also have opportunities to build and nurture partnerships with external stakeholders, helping to enhance Aston's research profile and strengthen connections with policy, industry and the wider community.

We are particularly interested in candidates who bring strong communication and relationship-building skills, enjoy working collaboratively, and are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a supportive and ambitious research environment.

In addition to the essential skills and experience outlined above, you will be able to read academic and professional literature in Spanish and conduct research using Spanish-language data.

This role is likely to qualify for endorsement under the Endorsed Funder route of the Global Talent visa. This visa is for talented or promising individuals in academia or research in fields such as science, engineering, medicine, social sciences, or humanities.
