In the past 5 years significant expansion and change has occurred nationally in the field of clinical psychology training which requires evaluation to improve training delivery and develop the evidence base for effective clinical competence development in online and off-line training delivery.
The post holder will co-design and conduct research evaluations and audits to support the development of clinical training innovations related to: clinician recruitment, clinical supervision, curriculum design, teaching delivery, assessment of clinical, academic and research competences, diversity and inclusion. There are a number of innovative projects related to digital practice and equality, diversity and inclusion which the research assistant will support.
The post holder will be required (under supervision) to: undertake the design and running of research and evaluations, set up stakeholder meetings, organise participant recruitment, recording and analysing data, searching relevant literature, writing up results, drafting papers and posters and organising dissemination events.
This post is well established within the DClinPsy and would suit an organised individual, with initiative, who can work independently, managing their time effectively between a variety of projects. The post requires excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Applicants must hold a degree in Psychology, alongside an interest and competence in basic qualitative and quantitative research methods.
The RHUL DClinPsy Programme has 60 commissioned places per cohort through its training contract with the Department of Health and Social Care. The RHUL DClinPsy is a large well-respected training programme with an existing BABCP CBT pathway and a Systemic pathway. The post-holder will join an innovative and supportive team of 20 clinical-academic staff with a range of expertise across child, adult, learning disability, health, older-adult and neuropsychology specialities.
The course sits within a vibrant Psychology Department, internationally recognised for world-class research and teaching with strong ratings for research (REF) and for teaching (UK NSS). The Department has excellent facilities, including MRI, EEG, TMS, eye trackers, behavioural testing suites, and social and infant observation labs, as well as strong links with clinical organisations, government, industry, and charity affiliations.
The post is based in Egham, where the University is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London. A mix of working from home and working in the department is offered if desired. We offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package with generous annual leave and staff development opportunities.
