We are seeking an experienced academic to lead our undergraduate and postgraduate Health and Social Care programmes at Lincoln Bishop University. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Institute of Health and Care at a pivotal stage in its development, shaping the future direction of a well-established provision with ambitious plans for growth.

The Institute of Health and Care is a supportive and forward-thinking academic community dedicated to improving lives through health, wellbeing, and community-focused practice. As part of the Faculty of People and Society, the Institute brings together expertise across a range of disciplines to address the opportunities and challenges facing individuals and communities.
Our Health and Social Care programmes have a strong reputation and continue to evolve in response to changing sector needs. With a particular focus on community and public health, wellbeing, and social care across the lifespan, the curriculum is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice through applied learning, placements, and work-related experiences.
Working closely with the Head of Institute, the successful candidate will provide academic and operational leadership across the portfolio. They will manage a small team of colleagues, lead curriculum development and strategic initiatives, support student recruitment and retention, and ensure the effective, compliant delivery of programmes across both the University and partner college provision. The role also includes teaching and supporting learning across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including research-focused modules.
We are looking for a candidate with experience of programme or course leadership, curriculum development, and collaborative working within higher education or a related setting. Engagement with relevant professional networks and stakeholders will be important, as will a commitment to delivering an excellent student experience and strong academic outcomes.
We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Public health
- Community health and social care
- Social work and community practice
- Health inequalities
- Prevention and early intervention
- Health and wellbeing across the lifespan
