The University of Bath · Faculty of Engineering & Design

Programme Administrator

Bath · Hybrid Permanent Full-time £26,707–£30,378 / year
Closes in 4 days
Join our dedicated team and play a vital role in supporting the smooth and efficient administration of the Faculty of Engineering & Design's taught degree programmes. Working closely with both professional services and academic colleagues, you'll help ensure an excellent experience for our students.

As part of a small, collaborative team, flexibility and teamwork are key. Your primary focus will be on assessment-related processes throughout the academic and student lifecycle, but you'll also provide day-to-day administrative support for teaching, assessment, and student data management.

Key responsibilities include:

- Maintaining accurate student records on the University's database.
- Assisting with core assessment and progression activities across departments.
- Taking responsibility for the preparation and timely provision of accurate student assessment and progression data reports for the Faculty's Boards of Examiners.
- Supporting Directors of Studies and liaising with external examiners.
- Responding to enquiries from students and academic staff.

Our ideal candidate will have:

- A considerate team-focused mindset. Supporting colleagues and contributing constructively to a collaborative working environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills. Managing multiple tasks and deadlines with ease. Maintaining accurate records and tracking student progress.
- Strong digital skills. Comfortable working with university systems and programme records. Confidence to quickly learn and embrace evolving digital platforms.
- Great communication skills. Engaging confidently with students, academic colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- A proactive approach. Taking initiative and working with autonomy when needed.

Experience in the use of university-specific software (e.g. Moodle, SAMIS/SITS, Business Objects and PowerBI) is desirable, though not essential, since training will be provided. Most important is an interest in our work, a willingness to become fully involved in both team business, and the life of the faculty and its departments.

This is a full-time (36.5 hours per week) role. We are currently operating a hybrid work model, so there would be the opportunity to work from home if desired, with a three day per week minimum on campus requirement. One of the on-campus working days must be a Wednesday.

What we can offer you:

- Generous annual leave allowance with an additional 5 discretionary days.
- Generous employer contributory pension schemes.
- Cycle to work scheme.
- Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme.
- Staff discount at Team Bath gym.
- Staff benefits include discounted postgraduate tuition and language courses, alongside a wide range of personal and professional development opportunities such as apprenticeships, LinkedIn Learning, and more.
- Local discounts, including free entry to the Holburne Museum in Bath.
- A family-friendly workplace.
- Relocation allowance.
- Visa reimbursement and interest-free loan to help with the cost of some immigration expenses.
- Employee assistance services through Health Assured, including access to the Wisdom app.

The University is committed to creating a health-supporting working environment and offers staff support groups and networks, a network of Staff Wellbeing Champions, and a suite of tools, resources and frameworks to enable staff to thrive.
