We are seeking to recruit a permanent full-time Professional Placements Administrator to join our vital placements team within the College of Health, Education and Public Life.
This is a busy and highly responsible role working within a supportive and well-established team. You will have responsibility for organising and monitoring the placement of students with a range of external placement providers. This will involve assessing the suitability of placements and matching students to placements appropriately.
You will have extensive contact with students and staff at a variety of levels within the University, and external placement provider contacts, providing practical advice and up to date placement data. Your effective communication and customer service skills will be invaluable for building effective relationships.
As well as using your own initiative, you will need to be able to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a large and friendly team. You must have the ability to work systematically to meet frequent hard deadlines and have the problem-solving abilities to proactively deal with unexpected change. The ability to plan and prioritise your own workload and to accurately and confidently work with databases and Excel is essential to this role.
To be successful, you should have:
- The skills to be able to build professional networks and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, using your own initiative to progress and meet frequent deadlines.
- Good customer service experience, which will include excellent communication skills.
- Administrative experience in a complex fast-paced organisation.
- Good IT skills, including full working knowledge of MS Office programmes. Excel skills are of particular importance.
Experience of working with large databases and software platforms is required, and an understanding of University processes would also be of benefit, but by no means essential.
The role is eligible for agile working, to be arranged with your manager after your initial induction training has been satisfactorily completed. We welcome applications from candidates seeking to job share.
Note: This vacancy is advertised as Internal Only.
