The University of Worcester is seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated Practice Education Facilitators to join our innovative School of Nursing and Midwifery. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in shaping the future of nursing education by ensuring students and apprentices receive outstanding, supportive, and high-quality practice learning experiences. Working at the heart of our partnerships with healthcare providers, you will play a vital role in bridging theory and practice, fostering collaboration, and enhancing placement quality across diverse clinical environments.
As part of a committed team of Practice Education Facilitators, you will work collaboratively to deliver exceptional support and guidance, ensuring consistency and excellence in practice education across the region. This post is ideal for candidates who are considering a transition from clinical practice into higher education and are passionate about developing the next generation of nurses.
As a Practice Education Facilitator, you will act as a key liaison between the University, students, and practice partners. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining regular communication with practice assessors, supervisors, academic assessors, students and apprentices.
- Monitoring placement quality and supporting audits to ensure compliance with NMC standards.
- Assisting in onboarding new placements to expand capacity.
- Supporting students and apprentices in linking theory to practice, identifying learning opportunities, and preparing for placements.
- Providing timely and empathetic support during placements and contributing feedback to course teams.
- Participating in the development and delivery of training for practice assessors and supervisors.
- Acting as a personal academic tutor and academic assessor.
- Undertaking Individual Learner Progress Reviews (apprentices) and ensuring accurate completion of documentation in line with apprenticeship compliance requirements.
This role requires flexibility, including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekend work, as well as travel to placement sites.
About You:
You will be a Registered Nurse with a degree or diploma in Nursing and current NMC registration. You will have experience supporting students in clinical settings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, along with a strong understanding of NMC Standards for student supervision and assessment (SSSA). Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with competence in digital tools, are essential. You will have the ability to build effective relationships and manage sensitive issues with discretion, and a commitment to professional development and reflective practice. A postgraduate qualification and Fellowship of Advance HE are desirable.
Benefits:
- Annual incremental increase up to £37,694, with the opportunity to progress to £41,064 subject to performance and the university reward scheme.
- Up to 36 days of leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays and University closure days) rising to 41 total days after 5 years' continuous service.
- Access to a range of benefits including the Staff Retail Benefits Scheme.
- Wellbeing advice and support through our Employee Assistance Programme.
- In-house training and development support.
- A friendly, inclusive and supportive culture and work environment.
Please note that this post does not meet the minimum salary requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route. Applicants requiring sponsorship to work in the UK cannot be considered.
