ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). At our ARU Writtle campus, we specialise in animal, environmental, agricultural and horticultural courses, for learners aged 16 to 18, adult learners, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Due to continued growth, the College is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced College Lecturer in Land-based Service Engineering or an experienced Land-based Service Engineering technician (Agricultural Service Engineer/technician), or an individual with related engineering machinery interests to join our expanding team delivering the Case New Holland (CNH) Level 2 and 3 Land Based Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Programme.

In this role you will be working within our team of engineering lecturers to provide both practical and theoretical instruction in the workshops and classroom.

The role provides a wide range of opportunities for either the experienced college lecturer already delivering to Land based Engineering Students within a college who is looking for a change and opportunity to develop new learning; or the experienced Land-based Service Engineering individual to pass on their knowledge and skills to the next generation of Land-based Service Engineers; or the enthusiastic, capable but less experienced individual a chance to develop knowledge and skills backed by the world-famous Case New Holland (CNH) machinery manufacturer.

In each case you must have a fundamental interest, background knowledge in agricultural and or other service engineering workshop activities i.e. vehicles, plant, horticultural machinery, welding and fabrication repairs.

Responsibilities:
- Developing specialist subject delivery for level 2 and level 3 apprentices in preparation for End Point Assessments.
- The preparation, delivery and supervision of "live work" student projects, including tractor and machinery repairs, servicing work and overhauls.
- Working as part of the team with general workshop operations such as tool and equipment storage, maintenance and health and safety compliance in line with industry standards.
- Transporting apprentices (Minibus driving) and attending CNH technical training courses with the apprentices at various stages through the course.
- Undertaking technical, educational and personal development courses including the opportunity to develop teacher training courses.
- Developing the programme, liaising with employers, partnering with the training centre at Basildon, and making site visits across the UK.
- Travelling to employers' workshops to complete workplace reviews with apprentices in their workplace.
- Close collaboration with colleagues in the College Further Education teams.

Requirements:
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at Level 2.
- Vocational qualification at NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
- Fundamental interest and background knowledge in agricultural and/or other service engineering workshop activities (vehicles, plant, horticultural machinery, welding and fabrication repairs).
- Ideally, an endorsed teaching qualification or willingness to commence teacher training within one year of employment.

Benefits include generous holiday entitlement, occupational pension schemes, training and development opportunities, travel to work scheme, and a competitive relocation package. An additional £9,000 per annum market supplement is provided on top of the base salary.

All appointments at ARU Writtle are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced criminal records with Children's Barred List check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Part-time working arrangements may be considered for the successful candidate.
