We are seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals to provide in-class learning support for students with special educational needs, including those with severe learning needs (SLD). You would be based at Uxbridge Campus or our new SEND centre, Barra Hall, in Hayes.
The role would involve encouraging, motivating and supporting students in lessons, as well as helping them manage their own behaviour. You would also support students to integrate into the college, encouraging them towards independence.
You will need to possess good communication and interpersonal skills and have experience of working with young people, together with experience of supporting people with learning difficulties/disabilities and/or challenging behaviour and have a good understanding of their needs.
The working pattern for these posts will be 8.45am - 4.30pm with a 30 minute lunch break each day. We can offer full time hours (36 per week), or part time hours, either 4 days (28.8 hours per week) or 3 days (21.6 hours per week). The work location could be Barra Hall, Hayes or Uxbridge Campus.
Please note: for individuals who start a term time only role after 1st September, the salary will be pro-rated from the start date to the end of this academic year (31st August 2027). This ensures that the correct entitlement to pay and holiday pay relative to the portion of the year worked. This will be paid in equal monthly instalments until 31 August. The salary will revert to the normal arrangements as stated in the advert at the start of the following academic year.
Please note, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this post.
