An enthusiastic team player with a can-do attitude, you will need to be highly organised with excellent IT and interpersonal skills, in order to provide a high-quality service. You will gain a good working knowledge of our finance systems and processes and University policies and procedures and use this to provide effective and efficient administrative support. This is a demanding and varied role; you will be an organised self-starter with exceptional communication skills and the ability to balance competing priorities in a busy environment.
The role holder will be responsible for a number of departments, acting as the first point of contact for a range of financial queries and leading on a number of transactional duties such as raising purchase orders, processing of invoices, payments, expenses and casual payroll. The role will have a crucial part to play in driving efficiency by identifying good practice in departments and harmonising processes across the Faculty.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications needed:
- Bring thorough knowledge of administrative processes and procedures gained in a large complex organisation and excellent IT skills to the role.
- Learn and use University systems, policies and processes to support day-to-day finance operations.
- Provide guidance and advice to resolve problems and queries for a broad range of customers.
- Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
The University strives to be diverse and inclusive – a place where we can ALL be ourselves. We particularly encourage applications from people who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background, who are underrepresented at the University. We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. As a Disability Confident employer, we will ensure that a fair and proportionate number of disabled applicants that meet the minimum (essential) criteria for each position will be offered an interview.
