As our new Electrical Services, Design and Standards Manager, you will become the University's recognised technical authority for electrical engineering, taking ownership of electrical standards, compliance, infrastructure resilience and future investment planning across a diverse and complex estate.
This is an excellent opportunity to influence strategy, modernise processes, develop high-performing teams and establish the standards that will underpin our electrical infrastructure for years to come.
Reporting to the Head of Estates and Facilities Management, you will lead the University's electrical engineering function, acting as the appointed Electrical Duty Holder and Authorised Person (Electrical). You will be responsible for developing electrical standards, maintenance strategies and asset investment plans, ensuring our infrastructure remains safe, compliant, resilient and fit for the future.
As a key member of the Estates leadership team, you will play a central role in our transformation programme, helping us develop smarter ways of working, improve operational performance and support the University's ambitions around sustainability, growth and customer experience.
This position offers a unique platform for an experienced electrical professional who wants to move beyond maintaining the status quo and help design and deliver the future operating model for electrical services across the institution.
We are looking for someone with:
- Significant experience managing electrical infrastructure within a large and complex organisation
- Experience operating as an Electrical Duty Holder, Authorised Person, Senior Authorised Person or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of electrical compliance, governance and asset management
- Proven experience developing teams, improving processes and driving service improvement
Most importantly, we're looking for a leader who sees opportunities where others see problems and who is motivated by creating safer, smarter and more effective engineering services.
