The University of Brighton is seeking to appoint a Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of research and knowledge exchange activities across the institution.
This is a senior leadership role within the university, responsible for driving the development and implementation of the university's research and knowledge exchange strategy. The postholder will work closely with academic and professional services colleagues to enhance the university's research profile, income, and impact.
The Director will lead on matters relating to research governance, research development, knowledge transfer partnerships, and the commercialisation of research outputs. They will represent the university externally with funding bodies, industry partners, and other stakeholders, and will play a key role in building and sustaining collaborative relationships that support the university's strategic ambitions.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a strong track record in research leadership within a higher education context, significant experience of securing and managing research funding, and the ability to inspire and motivate academic and professional services staff. A commitment to interdisciplinary and collaborative working is essential.
