The Digital Skills team is looking for a Digital Skills Developer to help improve the digital capabilities of students and staff across Cardiff Metropolitan University. You will identify digital skills needs, create engaging learning resources and deliver practical training that enables people to make effective use of the technology available to them.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues and students across the University to understand their activities, identify opportunities to improve working and learning practices, and provide development that supports Cardiff Met's digital transformation.
Key responsibilities:
- Identifying the digital skills needed by staff and students to work, teach, learn and study effectively.
- Analysing training needs and identifying common gaps in the use of Cardiff Met systems and technology.
- Designing high-quality curricula, training materials and digital learning resources.
- Creating and maintaining face-to-face training and e-learning.
- Delivering engaging digital skills sessions to individuals and groups.
What you'll bring:
You will be an enthusiastic and adaptable educator, able to explain digital technology in a clear, relevant and accessible way for a wide range of learners. You will have experience of developing and delivering training, together with the communication and interpersonal skills needed to explain technical information clearly. You will be customer focused, well organised and confident working with staff, students and other stakeholders.
Your logical and systematic approach will help you identify how technology can be used effectively in different situations. You will also bring a strong aptitude for learning, sound analytical and decision-making skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
In addition to holding a degree, you will ideally have good knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe software, particularly applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Copilot, Adobe Express and Photoshop. Experience of designing a training curriculum or creating e-learning would also be beneficial.
