Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real difference to the experience of students at Lancaster? We are seeking someone with an interest in digital accessibility and assistive technology to support staff and students, as well as colleagues delivering IT services across the University. This fixed-term role is available until July 2027 to provide cover for a secondment within the team.
Working within the Digital Adoption team, you will collaborate with digital skills developers, accessibility specialists and learning technologists to support training and accessibility initiatives across the University. You will help improve the accessibility of digital services and online resources, act as the first point of contact for the team, respond to enquiries and manage the day-to-day operation of the University's advanced captioning service.
Due to the customer-focused nature of the role and the need to work closely with colleagues, regular on-campus working is required. You will have strong administrative, organisational and IT skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a good understanding of creating accessible content, including documents and videos. Experience in a customer-facing support role would be advantageous.
Lancaster University's beautiful Bailrigg campus offers an exceptional working environment, combining a vibrant and diverse community with stunning green parkland and landscaped surroundings. Staff benefit from a wide range of on-campus facilities, including a sports centre, cafés, shops, a library, post office, pre-school and multi-faith centre. There are also numerous staff networks, clubs and social groups, providing plenty of opportunities to connect with colleagues and become part of our welcoming community.
Please note that this position is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route. Applicants will therefore need to already hold, or be able to demonstrate, the appropriate right to work in the UK for the duration of the role.
