Bath · Hybrid Permanent Part-time £58,225–£73,709 / year
Closes in 10 days
The University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Clinical Director to lead on all clinical aspects of our MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine.

We are looking for a Sport and Exercise Medicine specialist with an established track record of research and delivery of postgraduate clinical education alongside their clinical expertise.

Our MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine together with our MSc Sports Physiotherapy and new MSc Football Medicine programmes combine online learning with residential teaching weeks, and these courses are specifically designed to accommodate the professional development needs of practicing doctors and physiotherapists with an interest in sport and exercise. These programmes are established within the PG education landscape and are well respected for their academic rigour and strong emphasis on reflective practice.

Working alongside the Clinical Director of Football Medicine, the successful applicant will have responsibility for the coordination of clinical teaching during residential teaching weeks, along with an oversight of the clinical content of the online academic units on the Sport and Exercise Medicine course.

The teaching responsibilities will be centred around clinical examination skills and case management, career development and evidence-based practice.

The role will also include the co-ordination of a team of Professional Development Advisors to support students through developing their clinical experience and expertise within Sport and Exercise Medicine.

The Clinical Director will be involved in ongoing development of the programme and its promotion nationally and internationally.

Alongside their Clinical Directorship of the Sport and Exercise Medicine course, the successful candidate will also contribute to the university's strong research profile in Sport and Exercise Medicine. The candidate will join the UK Collaborating Centre on Injury and Illness Prevention in Sport (UKCCIIS) and contribute to research that has helped to enhance athlete health and prevent injuries in sport.

This is a 0.4 FTE role. Applications are welcomed from licensed and practicing Medical Doctors only. If you are interested in the Clinical Director role but do not have a research portfolio that would meet the research elements of the job description and person specification, please get in touch as there is some flexibility in the FTE and requirements of this role.
