Campus Supervisor (1FTE)

London Permanent Full-time £35,114–£39,564 / year
Closes 1 Nov 2026
The Royal College of Art is looking for five Campus Supervisors to join our Estates team and help create safe, welcoming and well-managed environments across our campuses.

As a Campus Supervisor, you will be a visible and approachable point of contact for students, staff and visitors, providing practical support and excellent customer service. You will take responsibility for a designated building or area, carrying out routine checks, identifying facilities issues and working with colleagues and contractors to ensure problems are resolved promptly.

The role is varied and hands-on. You will support room set-ups, moves and storage, deliveries and housekeeping, while also helping to maintain high standards of health and safety, security and building presentation. You will undertake daily building checks, report and follow up maintenance issues, carry out minor works where required and act as a Fire Warden and trained First Aider for your designated area.

You will work closely with Estates colleagues, Schools and Professional Services, Technical Services, contractors and the wider RCA community. A proactive approach is essential, as is the ability to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution or appropriate escalation.

About you:

You will have experience working in a customer-facing service role within a busy environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be organised, flexible and able to prioritise your own workload while maintaining high standards of service.

You will need to be comfortable undertaking physical tasks and manual handling, and able to work proactively, use your initiative and respond positively to changing priorities. Experience of working in a diverse and multicultural environment is important.

Experience in estates or facilities management, an educational environment, or relevant First Aid, Manual Handling or Health & Safety qualifications would be desirable. An interest in contemporary art, design and culture would also be welcomed.

Working pattern:

Campus Supervisors are required to work on campus to support the College's normal operating hours, typically 08.00–22.00, Monday to Friday. You will work an alternating shift pattern of 08.00–16.00 or 14.00–22.00, changing every two weeks. Some Saturday working during term time will also be required.

Training will be provided, including Fire Warden and First Aid training, and an RCA-branded uniform will be supplied.
